USING YOUR BROTHER GT-541 TO PRINT ON GOLF TOWELS
Using your Brother GT-541 inkjet garment printer to print on more than T-Shirts is a snap when you understand the basics of how to position the artwork.
-
First you need to create the artwork in your graphics program.
-
Make sure that you have the adult 14"x16" platen on the GT-541.
-
Set your paper size to 14"x16"
-
In our example here we used an 11"x18" towel. So, draw a box in your graphics program or create guidelines that encompass an 11"x18" square.
-
Center the box on your page and align the top edge of the box with the top edge of the page. Consider this your "virtual towel" in the computer.
-
Create your design or copy it and position it on the towel. Make sure to center it from left to right and top to bottom - leaving at least 1/4"-1/2" on the top and bottom from the edge of the towel as a clear space. This will keep you from printing the image too close to the edge of the towel and possibly creating misprints.
-
When you have your design ready to print, make sure to give your "virtual towel" (the drawn box) no outline so that it can't be seen on screen and won't print. I have done that before where I forgot to do that and I printed the outline of the towel actually on the towel. (duh!).
-
Set your platen height to the "C" setting or lower - making sure the towel will not hit the printheads.
-
Lay your towel out on the platen centering it and putting the top edge of the towel even with the top edge of the platen.
-
PRINT AWAY!
It really is that easy to print towels on the Brother GT-541 just by following those simple steps. You can now create beautiful towels for golf courses, schools, fund-raisers, etc. If you are looking for a supplier of towels almost any wholesaler will have some type of towel or you can check out Terry Town as that's what they specialize in.
